Village Building Series

Family Friendly, Community Building Events

Cambridge Camping's Village Building Series is a year-round, cost-free program filled with engaging, inclusive, and joyful events designed specifically for families who meet income eligibility requirements. We invite children and families to build meaningful connections, form lasting friendships, and cultivate supportive mentoring relationships—all within a nurturing community setting. Throughout the year, families will experience a variety of transformative experiences including live theater & musical performances, visits to museums and cultural institutions, activities like ice skating and bowling, and lively holiday celebrations.

Village Building Series #1: A Relaxed Theater Performance!

Join Cambridge Camping for our first 2025 Village Building Series event, a live theater performance of Jaja’s African Hair Braiding at the Speakeasy Stage!
Relaxed performances make theater spaces more welcoming to audience members who may not feel comfortable with the conventions of traditional theater. While no part of the production itself changes, this performance will have relaxed theatre expectations – so all patrons can enjoy the performance in whatever way makes sense to them.

When Wednesday May 28th, 5:15pm (Show at 7pm)

Ages Recommended 12+ (The show has some mature themes)

Cost Free! CCA provides dinner, transportation to the show, and theater tickets

Location Meet at the Cambridge Camping office at 5:15pm for pizza, then travel to the 7pm show together
