  • Emily Matthews

    Program Coordinator

    Emily Matthews joined Cambridge Camping in early 2026 as a Program Coordinator and is a Cambridge resident herself. Originally from Florida, Emily attended camp in her youth and is an advocate for camp being accessible to all! She has dedicated the past 5 years to working in nonprofit, academic, and public sector settings focused on public health, education, and recreation. Most recently, Emily was a Youth Programs Instructor for Outward Bound in the Boston Harbor. She has also worked for City Year Greater Boston as an Impact Manager and AmeriCorps as a Team Leader. Emily is excited to connect community youth members and their families with meaningful experiences at Cambridge Camping!

    Franck Salomon

    Bookkeeper

    Franck came to Cambridge Camping with 20 years of experience in Accounting & Information Technology in June 2016. Franck has also worked as Controller for WAND education Fund in Arlington Mass, NT Administrator and Bookkeeper for Haitian Coalition in Somerville, Staff Accountant Middlesex Hospital in Waltham, MA, MIS supervisor for Olympus Specialty Hospital (Formerly Middlesex County Hospital, Waltham, MA.
    As a Seven Day Adventist, Franck loves camping.

  • Jane Hirschi

    Interim Executive Director

    Jane Hirschi fills the role of Interim Executive Director at Cambridge Camping, having joined the organization in April 2026. An associate with Interim Executive Solutions, Jane was certified as an interim executive leader in 2023. Jane is the founding executive director of the CitySprouts school garden program and the author of two books on the topic of outdoor learning: Ripe for Change (2015, Harvard Education Press) and We Garden Together (Workman Publishing, 2023). A nonprofit executive director for over 25 years, Jane’s approach to interim leadership is grounded in an acknowledgement of systemic inequities at the cultural, interpersonal and personal levels while helping nonprofit boards and staff build organizational capacity and lay the groundwork for new leadership.

    Sharon Zimmerman

    Director of Strategy and Development

    Sharon Zimmerman, MSW, is the Senior Director of Strategy and Development at Cambridge Camping Association. A seasoned nonprofit leader with 35 years of experience, Sharon served as CCA’s Executive Director from 2016 through 2026, helping expand the organization’s reach, deepen its impact, and grow its programming beyond summer into year-round support for children and families. Based in St. Petersburg, Florida, she works remotely and remains deeply engaged in Cambridge Camping’s mission and future. Throughout her career, Sharon has focused on helping individuals improve the quality of their lives, helping organizations build capacity, and helping communities thrive. She brings a deep commitment to social justice, human rights, and advancing economic, social, and political solutions that contribute to a more just world.
