Daybreak Day Camp

Daybreak is a five-week therapeutic day camp for low-income children in Cambridge and Somerville with emotional and behavioral special needs. With a knowledgeable staff, a structured program, and engaging activities, Daybreak provides the friendships and learning associated with summer camp to children often excluded from such experiences. Daybreak encourages children to engage in camp to their fullest potential, building skills, resilience, and confidence. Campers enjoy swimming, arts and crafts, sports, games, and field trips. Transportation, breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided. This camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the Cambridge Board of Health.

Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program

The CIT is a paid position with priority given to former CADC campers ages 15-17. Teens should apply early through the Cambridge Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (MYSEP) and indicate that they would like to work with CADC. This program prepares teens to be conscientious members of the camp's workforce and encourages personal, group and community responsibility. Before camp begins, CITs meet and begin training with the camp director. CITs receive support throughout the summer as they work directly with the campers and staff to help foster a productive, fun, safe, and exciting summer program.

Overnight Scholarship Program

The program serves low-income families by providing partial scholarships to sponsor campers at our partner overnight camps. CCA works with several accredited overnight camps in New England to provide camp sessions at substantially reduced rates. Please fill out & return our application to see if you are eligible to attend overnight camp.
